Impressionist Portraits: 4-Week Painting Course sold out
Discover the lively world of Impressionism through this 4-week course focused on creating expressive portraits in the style of masters like Monet, Renoir, and Mary Cassatt. Over four sessions, you’ll learn about capturing the essence of a face using loose brushstrokes, visible texture, vibrant colours and an emphasis on light and atmosphere rather than precise detail. At the end of the 4 weeks you’ll complete at least 1 lively portrait that radiates personality and mood.
Reference photos: You may use a photograph of yourself or someone else as your reference, or choose from a selection of portrait references provided by me, or even do a master study of your favourite impressionist. The goal is to translate the subject into an impressionistic interpretation—focusing on colour, brush work and soft edges, light and expressive impact rather than photographic realism.
